President Mahama will deliver his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) in his second term.
The President is expected to touch on key sectors of the economy and update Ghanaians on the current state of the economy.
John Mahama is also expected to outline his government’s plan to tackle issues like unemployment, corruption, galamsey and key policies to revive the economy.
Various stakeholders, including the Trades Union Congress (TUC), the Ghana Union of Traders (GUTA) business leaders, and civil society organisations are all looking forward to government to provide concrete solutions to pressing national issues.
Key statesmen such as former President John Agyekum Kufuor, former First Lady Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Chief Justices of the Supreme Court, former Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho were all present in Parliament for the President’s state of the nation address.
